All set for Presidential poll on Saturday

ISLAMABAD—Polls for the Presidential election would be held tomorrow (Saturday) in the Parliament House and all the four provincial assemblies according to the schedule announced by Election Commission of Pakistan.
President General Pervez Musharraf, President Pakistan Peoples party (PPP) Makhdoom Amin Faheem and Justice (Retd) Wajihuddin, nominated by the lawyers’ community would contest the battle for the country’s top slot.
Parliamentarians would cast their votes in transparent ballot boxes and polling would start at 10:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. without any break or interval. Notification of the new President would be issued by the evening of the polling day.
Names of the contested candidates are written in alphabetical order on the ballot papers. Ballot papers, ballot boxes and other related items would be handed over to the presiding officers in Punjab, Sindh, NWFP and Balochistan Assemblies today (Friday).
