Sri
Lanka-England series live on Ten Sports
England will be out for revenge as they start their tour of Sri Lanka,
but will have their task cut out against a full-strength home side. And
the entire engrossing series will be available live and exclusive on Ten
Sports, the most watched sports channel of the sub-continent.
Apart from the subcontinent, Ten Sports will also telecast the matches
live in the Middle East.
England’s tour is split in two parts this year, with the five one day
internationals being played in the first half of October, followed by
three Test matches in December.
All the ODIs are day-night affairs, starting with the first three
matches in Dam bulla (October 1, 4 and 7), followed by two matches at R
Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on October 10 and 13.
England would be desperate to make amends for their disastrous 5-0
one-day whitewash at home when Sri Lanka toured in 2006. The Test series
was drawn 1-1, with Sri Lanka winning the third Test.
Both the teams have played 38 one-day against each other and the honours
are even with 19 wins each. However, England’s record in Sri Lanka is
not something to rave about – they were bowled out for 88 in their last
one-day outing in 2003, and had lost their three-match series in 2001 by
3-0.
And Sri Lanka will also be bolstered by the return of spin wizard
Muttiah Murlaitharan, who sat out the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa
after suffering a muscle tendon tear in his right bicep.
According to Safia Tufail the correspondence of ten Sports in Pakistan.
The Sri Lanka-England series, and the simultaneous telecast of the South
Africa-Pakistan series in Pakistan, will just act as an appetiser as Ten
Sports has lined up non-stop international cricket action till July
2008.
