President Musharraf and Prime Minister Aziz greet China on its national
day
ISLAMABAD—President General
Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have extended greetings
to China on its national day being celebrated on Monday and said that
Pakistan is proud of its “all weather” and “time tested” friendship with
China.
President Musharraf in his message of greetings to Chinese President Hu
Jintao said, “On the occasion of the National Day of the People’s
Republic of China, it gives me great pleasure to extend to your
excellency, the government and the people of China our warmest
felicitations.”
The President in his message further said, “As close friends and
neighbors, we cherish the excellent ties and comprehensive partnership
between our two countries. We are also proud of great national
accomplishments of the Chinese people.”
President Musharraf said, “Your excellency’s visit to Pakistan last year
was an outstanding success.”
“Together we were able to delineate the trajectory for further
broadening our cooperation to achieve common development and for
promoting peace and prosperity of our peoples,” he added.
In his message, President Musharraf further said, “I have no doubt that
our friendship, which is rooted in the hearts and minds of our people
will continue to grow in strength in the year ahead.” “I wish your
excellency’s good health and happiness and ever-greater progress and
prosperity to the friendly people of China,” said the President
concluding his message.
In his message to Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic
of China Wen Jiabao, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said, “On behalf of the
government and people of Pakistan, it gives me great pleasure to extend
our warmest felicitations to your excellency on the occasion of the
national day of the People’s Republic of China.”
The Prime Minister further said, “Pakistan and China are old and good
friends. Our friendship is ‘all weather’ and ‘time tested’.”
Shaukat Aziz said friendship of Pakistan and China has remained constant
over five decades and has been passed on from generation to generation
ever invigorated and refreshed.
“Pakistan is proud of the achievements China has made in all the fields
and we are determined to reinforce our traditional friendship by ever
closer cooperative partnership in all domains,” he said.
Shaukat Aziz said, “I wish your excellency good health and happiness and
