SC orders for reopening Lal Masjid today

ISLAMABAD—Supreme Court (SC) has ordered that Lal Masjid be reopened for offering prayers from today (Wednesday) and Maulana Abdul Ghaffar and Aamir Siddique, nephew of Maulana Abdul Aziz be appointed Imam and Naib Imam respectively on temporary basis.
These orders were issued by a 2-member bench of SC comprising justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi and justice M Javed Buttar during hearing of Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa case here Tuesday.
The court further ordered girl students of Jamia Hafsa and children be shifted to Jamia Faridia so that their stalled education process could be restored from October, 15. Government should incur expenses on account of education, teachers salaries, eatables, accommodation and transport. Cases in respect of missing and those who were martyred during operation in Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa be registered and cases be also registered against those who were found involved in desecration of verses of the Holy Quran.
The SC directed the Deet be paid to the legal heirs of those who were martyred in Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa if they compromised on it. CDA should make efforts for completion of construction work of new project at Jamia Hafsa site.
The health secretary and director of national institute for disabled persons were directed to present report before the court for dispatching one Yasir, 13 to foreign country for treatment as two bullets had penetrated into his spinal cord and one bullet could be extracted.
