CDA to review Zero Point Interchange design

ISLAMABAD—The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to get the approved design of Zero-Point interchange reviwed by National Highway Authority, a CDA official said.
“The approved design of the interchange was prepared by M/s ECIL the firm which had prepared the lay out plan of recently collapsed Northern By-pass in Karachi.” The Authority Chairman has strictly directed the concernedto keep vigil on every step involved in the construction of the project. Under the directives, the planning directorate has evolved apolicy that will envisage counter check of the designs of upcoming projects including interchanges, fly-overs and underpasses throughcompetent professional bodies, the official said. The construction work over Zero-Point interchange which was expected soon after Ramzaan will now be started in the first week of November while tenders will be floated after Eid-ul-Fitr.
