Chinese students of IIUI strengthening friendly relations

Islamabad—Following the celebration of National Day of China and holy month of Ramadan, Chinese Students Union of Pakistan has organized a decent ceremony at International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI). H.H. Luo Zhao Hui, Ambassador of China was chief guest while Prof. Dr. Anwar H. Siddiqui, President of IIUI presided over the ceremony. The ceremony was officially started by the recitation of Holy Quran by Ma Xiao Long (Shams uddin), a Chinese student of IIUI.
During his inauguration key note address, Tie Ming Liang (Yusuf), Head of the Chinese Students Union of Pakistan welcomed all the guests and highlighted the achievements of Chinese students of IIUI. He informed that the first Chinese student was arrived at International Islamic University, Islamabad, just after the four years of its inauguration in 1980."More than 1000 Chinese students have come and gone since then. There are presently more than 300 Chinese students at the university, the second largest group following the Pakistani students" He further said.
Speaking at the occusion, Dr. Hussain Ahmad Piracha, Student Advisor and Associate Professor Politics and International Relations delivered his key note on Pak-China Friendship. He termed the Sino Pak relations ties all weather and multi-dimensional. He said that China is a role model for Pakistan in making progress and development. His address was highly appreciated by all the audience. H.H. Luo Zhao Hui, Ambassador of China and Chief Guest of the ceremony described friendly relations between the people of Pakistan and China. He said that Pakistan and China are being enjoyed deep-rooted and time-tested friendship and according to him, the relations are based on respect, cooperation and both the countries will continue exploring ways to enhance cooperation in different spheres of life. He also expressed that the historical Silk Route had been widened to facilitate more trade-related activities and tourism movement for the people of both the countries. He got the biggest share of hand-clapping.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Anwar Siddiqui highlighted the contribution of China and Chinese people for Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of Chinese language for Pakistani people. He announced that Chinese Language and Culture Block will be opened shortly for Pakistanis to learn Chinese language at International Islamic University, Islamabad with the collaboration of Chinese Universities.—PR
