Benazir wants to get favour of foreign mentors: Ijaz ul Haq
By Ali Imran

ISLAMABAD—Minister for Religious Affairs Muhammad Ijazul Haq Thursday said Benazir Bhutto wants to get favour of her foreign mentors at the cost of national interests.
Commenting on Benazir Bhutto’s assertion that she would allow International Atomic Energy Agency access to nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, he said she was playing in the hands of foreign elements.
The Minister, in a statement issued here, said Benazir always dented the larger interest of people and her policies favoured elements working against Pakistan.
He alleged that when former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi visited Pakistan, the Benazir government handed over the lists of Sikh militants to him.
Ijaz ul Haq said Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto took initiative to launch atomic programme and late General Zia ul Haq carried forward the agenda, adding its a matter of high concern that Benazir was “siding with that elements that are against our nuclear programme.”
The Minister accused Benazir of assuring the United States that she would allow it to conduct operations in the Pakistani tribal areas if she came into power.
