Khar meets Nawaz

LONDON—Ghulam Mustafa Khar, former Punjab governor and senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party, called on President Pakistan Muslim League (N) Mian Nawaz Sharif here on Friday.
Both leaders discussed on various national issues including Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto’s possible deal with the government and the country’s political situation. The meeting lasted for about one hour. Talking to media persons after the meeting, Nawaz Sharif said that he would definitely go back to the country and would play his due role in the national politics. He said he would do his utmost efforts for reinforcement of the 1973 constitution and rule of law in the country.
Ghulam Mustafa Khar, whom the PPP leadership expelled from the party a few days back, said that Benazir is striking a deal with the government in her personal capacity and has noting to do with national interest. She has ignored the party and has not taken the party leadership in confidence on the deal, he stated.—Online
