Boucher arrives for crucial talks

ISLAMABAD—President General Pervez Musharraf has rejected US offer for release of abducted soldiers in trouble tribal areas of the country underlining that all option of negotiations are being utilized for their safe release.
The Pakistan security forces have ability and equipped to deal with the situation, the President said this while talking to US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Richard Boucher on Friday. The Foreign Office and Presidential Spokesperson expressed unawareness about the meeting, however, the reliable sources told Online that the meeting was held on wish of Richard Boucher. During the meeting, both the President and US Assistant Secretary of State discussed matters of mutual interest, Pak-America strategic dialogue, war against terrorism, Political scenario of the country and Pak-Afghan affairs.
Pakistan was committed to fight against terrorism and would conclude this to its logical end, the President said. Commenting on the political situation of the country, President Gen Pervez Musharraf categorically stated that the upcoming general elections would be held at time.—Online
