Iranian media delegation calls on Kasuri

ISLAMABAD—Foreign Minister Khurshid M. Kasuri underlining Pakistan’s wholehearted commitment to the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) Gas Pipeline project has stressed the need for removal of all impediments with a view to reaching a final Trilateral Agreement at the earliest.
The Foreign Minister expressed these views while talking to the visiting Iranian media delegation here at the Foreign Office on Friday.
The delegation is led by Ali Reza Malakian, Deputy Minister for Press and Information Affairs of Iran.
In the interactive session, the Foreign Minister dilated upon various facets of Pakistan-Iran ties which he described as a special relationship that drew strength from the abiding kinship of faith, culture and historical experience between the peoples of the two countries.
The Foreign Minister drew attention of the Iranian media delegation to the economic growth registered by Pakistan’s economy in the last few years.
He described Pakistan’s foreign investment friendly policies which have attracted record foreign investment including from the Gulf countries.
In the context of border security, the Foreign Minister reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to not allow its territory to be used for any activity detrimental to the peace and security of the brotherly country of Iran.
This determination, he emphasized, was amply demonstrated by the recent rescue of Iranian hostages by Pakistani security forces.
