Evening party for quake disabled children held

ISLAMABAD—Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) and National Institute of Handicapped (NIHD) jointly celebrated here an evening party with the quake disabled children.
Director NIHD Dr Jahanzeb Khan Aurakzai said on theoccasion NIHD has constructed prefabricated Spinal Injury Unit to cater to the needs of disabled quake affectees.
He said they were working very closely with ERRA to help these disabled persons, adding that many patients were now recovering miraculously.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chairman ERRA, Lt. Gen. Nadeem Ahmad said ERRA was working very hard for the disabled people and initiated Rs. 742 million “Medical Rehabilitation of the Disabled in the Earth Quake Affected Areas” (MRDEA), project. It will help them restart their lives with dignity and hope. An affectee of Earthquake, Sidra from Muzzaffarabadwho expressed her views regarding this event said “I am enjoying this event a lot and other entertaining programmes should be arranged in future for our enjoyment”. Various children enthusiastically participatedin different games and enjoyed the party.
