Three new jails to be built

SUKKUR—Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Jail Affairs, Dr. Ayub Shaikh has said that three new jails were being built in Ghotki, Naushahroferoze, and Mirpurkhas districts. While talking to the Journalists at Press Club Ghotki on Friday, he said that a large number of prisoners had been detained in low capacity jails, making inmates’ lives miserable.The Advisor said more than 22,000 prisoners were lodged in jails of the province, which had been designed for 8,000 prisoners only. Dr. Shaikh said 450 people would be recruited to meet the shortage of staff in the jails of the province.—Online
