Anti-terror court summons Shahbaz

LAHORE—A Special Anti-terrorism Court Lahore Friday issued arrest warrant of Former Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif on his return, who is in overseas exile with his brother Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Issuing the arrest warrant of Former Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Judge Anti Terrorism Special Court Shabir Hussain Chattah has ordered police to arrest Shahbaz Sharif and produce him before the court on his return to the country. Shahbaz Sharif has been charged with ordering the killing of five people in an allegedly fake police encounter in area of Sabza Zar during his tenure as Chief Minister Punjab. Police during fake encounter on April 27, 1998 killed five students including Salahuddin, Ashraf, Wakeel, Farooq and Rauf on the orders of Shahbaz Sharif in area of Sabza Zar.
The case was registered against Mian Shahbaz Sharif on January 30, 2001 on the application of Syed-ul-Din, father of deceased Salahuddin and directives of Court. Now the case is under trial in Special Anti Terrorism Court of Lahore. During the trial, the court summoned Mian Shahbaz Sharif several times but he could not appear before the court due to his exile. The court had already issued the un-bailable arrest warrant of Mian Shahbaz Sharif. .
