MoU between IIUI, TUF inked

ISLAMABAD—The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) and The University of Faisalabad (TUF) have entered into a memorandum of understanding and academic cooperation for mutual benefits, on a special request of the former institution.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Anwar Hussain Siddiqui, President, International Islamic University, Islamabad and Professor Dr. Abdul Majeed, Pro-Rector, The University of Faisalabad in Islamabad on Thursday, 6 th September, 2007.
The MoU shall pave the way for cooperation in the fields of Engineering and technology, Health Sciences, Shariah, Law, Management Sciences, and Social Sciences for achieving higher standards of academic excellence. The MoU provides that both the universities shall identify viable areas/subjects of interest for conducting academic programmes and joint research work on specific terms and conditions and shall involve their research and academic staff to accomplish specific research projects.
The MoU further adds that the International Islamic University, Islamabad shall nominate its experts in Law, Shariah, Electronic Engineering and Technology, Computers, Tafseer/Hadith, Social Sciences, Languages and Literature and other disciplines on the Academic Council/Syndicate of The University of Faisalabad. The IIUI shall also provide its skills and expertise in various academic disciplines and assist TUF in designing schemes of studies, courses, curricula and other academic instructions in the relevant fields of specialization as per requirements of The University of Faisalabad.
As per the MoU, the IIUI will also offer its academic facilities to the students sponsored by TUF in regular degree programmes. Both the university shall organize periodic seminars, workshops, symposia and conferences for the mutual benefit on each other’s campuses.
The MoU in general shall provide an internationally accepted standards and norms of skill and expertise to the University of Faisalabad from the academic, training and research pool of the International Islamic University Islamabad. Mr. Gulzar Ahmad Khwaja, Director Academics/Registrar of IIUI, Dr. Muhamad Tahir Mansoori, Dean, Faculty of Shariah and Law of IIUI and Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Azhar, Dean of the University of Faisalabad were also present on the occasion.
