CDA to construct Chillah Gah at Lohi Dandi

ISLAMABAD—The Development and Management Committee of the Shrine of Hazrat Barri Imam (.R.A) which met at the Parliament House here Monday afternoon under the Chairmanship of Mr. Mohammedmian Soomro, Chairman Senate of Pakistan has underlined the need to take appropriate steps for the speedy completion of the formalities regarding floating of tenders for the Barri Imam Complex including the Shrine and the Arcade.
The Committee was informed that as per decision of the Development and Management Committee CDA floated the tenders and three pre-qualified firms participated in the bid. It was further told that the rates received through negotiations in December 2005 were 55% above NIT and the bid was conditional too whereas in the present case the rates of lowest bidder are 49% above NIT and the bid is unconditional. The Committee gave a go ahead and desired that the Planning Commission may be consulted as to whether Phase-I can be executed pending the revision of PC-I. The Committee was further told that the design of the Complex has been structured so as to meet the revised building code. The Committee was told that CDA plans to undertake Lohi Dandi project at a cost of 50 million rupees and that, besides Chillah Gah, Langar Khana and Lavatory, three shelter points will be constructed between Lohi Dandi and Barri Imam Complex for rest, recreation and entertainment of Zaireens.
