PSEB to represent Pak in Dubai IT exhibition

ISLAMABAD—Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) would participate in IT exhibition “GITEX Dubai 2007” from September 8 to 12 in Dubai.
PSEB is forming a customized country pavilion in GITEX; Dubai to represent Pakistani Information Technology Industry’s soaring potential in various zones at the prestigious technology exhibition. PSEB is also sponsoring ten of its member IT companies to participate in “GITEX Dubai 2007”. All IT companies sponsored by PSEB are renowned in their respective areas of expertise.
These companies that would participate in the exhibition include AZM Computer Services (Pvt.) Limited, MIXIT Technologies, Netsol, Descon Information System, Ikonami, Kraysis, Comcept, Infotech, Intagleo System and Efrotech. All the companies are specilised in their respective services. Participation of PSEB’s member companies in GITEX will bring forth positive outcomes for Pakistan’s IT Industry through establishment of new alliances and a boost in outsourced work.
Pakistani companies look forward to doing business with their counterparts in Dubai and to networking with financial services as well as technology leaders. PSEB, a governmental agency to promote Pakistan IT has been participating in GITEX exhibitions consistently in the past and the response has been encouraging. Several Pakistani IT companies have developed successful business relations while more than ten companies have now established their own offices in Dubai.
Pakistan’s IT exports crossed one billion US dollars in the last year and IT exports growth in each of the last four years has been 50 percent. PSEB has been facilitating the IT industry through its programs in human capital, office space, marketing, company capability development, Telecom bandwidth, industry finance, public policy, strategy and research, and facilitation. The IT industry of Pakistan is currently valued at two billion dollars with an IT workforce of 110,000, growing at almost 20,000 a year. There are more than 125 ISO certified and CMMI rated IT firms in Pakistan.
