31 pilgrims die of suffocation

SEHWAN—Eight more pilgrims of lal Shahbaz Qalandar died Monday in scorching heat and drowning in canal here as ceremonies of the last day of 755th annual Urs of the sufi saint were underway here. The death toll in heat and drowning during the three-day Urs has now reached to 31. A large number of devotees thronged the shrine town of Sehwan to attend the Urs ceremonies. Huge crowds caused the worst traffic jam in the town.—Online
