International symposium on advanced materials to be started from 3rd

ISLAMABAD—The 10th International Symposium on Advanced Materials being held from September, 3-7 here at local hotel. According to the organizers, objective of the symposium to establish a dialogue and long lasting, healthy technical cooperation among the materials scientists and engineers of the developing and developed countries.
This biennial event has become one of the prime international forums at which materials engineers and scientists can keep themselves up-to-date with recent technologies and new developments in advanced structural and functional materials.
Mohammadmian Soomro, Chairman Senate will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony to be held September 3. The closing ceremony will be held on September 7. Dr.Ashfaq Ahmed,
Special Advisor to Prime Minister on Strategic Programmes will chair the closing ceremony. Karim Ahmed, Chairman Symposium will be present in these ceremonies.
Scientists and Engineers from all over the world including Algeria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, China, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkey, South Korea, Singapore, UK, Ukraine and USA in addition to more than 200 participants from various educational and R&D institutions from Pakistan, will participate in the symposium.
This year the Papers & Discussions will be focused on six topics: Development in materials Processing, Surface Engineering, Phase Transformation and Characterization, Advances in magnetic materials, Nanotechnology and Reliability and Life Assessment
The said topics have been arranged in Oral and Poster sessions. The Oral sessions will commence with a keynote lecture to be delivered by an expert in the field.
There will be 13 keynote lectures, 35 Oral presentations and 159 posters to be presented by researchers. In all, more than 200 papers will be presented by 20 foreign and 165 local researchers.
One day workshop on “Magnetic materials” is also being organized during the symposium. International Magnetic experts will deliver their lectures covering the following three topics; Advancement in Magnetic Materials, Processing and Characterization of SmCo and NdFeB magnet and Processing and Characterization of Alnicos, FeCrCo and Ferrite Magnets in the workshop.
