5-day workshop for sound engineers concludes at Lok Virsa

ISLAMABAD—Five-day training workshop concluded here at Lok Virsa for Sound engineers of leading public sector organizations including representatives from media houses.
The workshop was organized under the Cultural Pact, signed between the governments of Pakistan and Norway. According to a statement issued here, the pact aims at promoting Joint Institutional Cooperation between the cultural organizations of the two countries. The Joint Institutional Cooperation focuses on facilitating independent contacts between leading institutions for greater networking and institutional capacity building in the areas of cooperation.
The workshop was the constituent activity of the ongoing Joint Institutional Cooperation Programme 2006-9 which envisions ‘enhanced cross-cultural understanding based on the universal principles of peace, tolerance and harmony, prevails between Norwegians and Pakistanis’. Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage, Riksantikvaren is the lead implementing partner from Norway and the workshop was designed specifically to address the capacity gaps in sound engineering in Pakistan.
