Barrister Sultan denounces Kashmir Govt plans

ISLAMABAD—Former prime minister of Azad Kashmir and Peoples’ Muslim League president Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry on Saturday alleged that (Sardar) Attiq & Company had intensions to make the city of Neela but as crown city.
While addressing a press conference, along with Lord Nazir Ahmad, a member of British House of Lords and member of Kashmiri Fund, at his residence, the former premier has stressed on Pakistan to abandon its apologetic policy on Kashmir issue.
He said that in the Post 9/11 scenario, both Pakistan and India have initiated composite dialogue, but, without the proper participation of the primary party, the Kashmiris, without whom any resolutions or negotiations will never bear any fruits.
“Kashmir problem should be resolved, according to the will of locals”, he demanded. “The WAPDA is trying to temper the agreed amount of Rs 1.5 b for the Mangla dam affectees. Now, this amount has been allocated for the construction of the Avenue Mujahid- e-Awwal road and Neela Butt Stadium”.
The Kashmiri political leader disclosed that it had given ultimatum of 3rd September to government to withdraw its anti-masses plans. Otherwise, protests would be staged in which Lord Nazir will also join hands. ‘We can Even, go ‘to the extent of’ provoking civil war’, he added.
Speaking on his turn, the member of House of Lords, Lord Nazir told that WAPDA should reconsider its sordid intensions against the locals of Mirpur, and, federal government should also restore the due budget of the city.
I will support the planned movement of Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry “For the rights of people of Mirpur”, he expressed his resolve.While commenting on dialogue going on between Pakistan and India on Kashmir issue, he pointed out that India is not projecting its sincerity in ongoing dialogue, and it continues to create problems in Pakistan through its Afghan consulates, and strongly demanded that Pakistan should revert its previous stance on Kashmir rather showing more palatable attitude.
