Officials recruited in hospitals on favoritism becoming nuisance

ISLAMABAD—The officials recruited in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Federal Government Services Hospital (Poly Clinic) on nepotism have became nuisance for doctors and other staff of these hospitals.
According to the sources of Health Ministry, 28 people who were recruited against the merit in both the hospitals during the last one-year, not only showed negligence in their duties but openly violated the orders of doctors and other officers.
It is noted that out of 28 these officials, 16 were recruited in PIMS while 12 in Poly Clinic against merit.
Sources said that the hospital administration despite of routine incidents of scuffles and negligence from these persons in their duties cannot take any action against them as they enjoy the backing of influential people of the Health Ministry.
Regarding the appointment of these officials, the sources told that a Section Officer of the Health Ministry named Jameel who was the member of the Selection Committee raised objections against the appointment of eligible persons and the Selection Committee but had no choice but to recruit these ineligible person.—Agencies
