6 Security men killed in Swat

MINGORA—At least six security personnel including four FC officials and two policemen were killed and several others seriously injured on Friday morning when some unidentified miscreants attacked Frontier Constabulary (FC) check post in Char Bagh, some 20 kilometers from here. A van was also blown away with explosive, killing at least one civilian.
Source said that unidentified miscreants have also blown a police van, which arrived to the scene for assistance. Eyewitness said that explosives were used to blow up the van, killing one civilian and injured two policemen.
Sources said that security forces returned the fire in defence unidentified miscreants fired at-least eight rockets and mortars.
The injured were rushed to Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital where their condition reported as critical. As per details, some unidentified militants attacked a military checkpoint situated in Gul Bagh before dawn Friday, killing at least two soldiers and wounding six others, besides leaving the check post ablaze. The militants used rocket launcher, mortars and hand grenade during the attack at check post of security forces.—Agencies
