Price of Roti shoots up

RAWALPINDI—After increase in the rate of Atta in the open market, the Nanbai (Bread Maker) in the city and in several Cantonment areas have increased the rate of rote by 1 rupee and the Roti is now being sold at ng in Rs 4 in the market.
The majority of the hotels also selling the Roti on high rate while the people also complained low weight of the Roti.
The masses while protesting over the situation said that the government failed to control the prices of daily commodities and increase in the prices of daily usable items are expected before the advent of the holy month of Ramzan. The Chairman District Price Control Committee, Haji Muhammad Jamal told that increase in the price of Roti would not be tolerated and the government is releasing flour to the flour Mills in the next week, after that the price of Atta would be decreased, he added. He said that the District Administration has not yet fixed any new prices of Roti and a meeting of Nanbai would be convened in the next week and an operation would be started against those Nanbai who would sell Roti above the fix price.—Online
