Increase in head bounty resurfaces Bin Laden
DM Monitoring

ISLAMABAD—As if he was waiting for this huge increase in the head bounty by the Americans from US $ 25 million to US $ 50 million Osama Bin Laden, has resurfaced in an undated video tape praising the virtues of 'Holy War'. Al-Qaeda's fugitive chief OBL appeared in an undated videotape posted on the Internet on Sunday, in which he praised martyrdom.
"The happy (person) is the one chosen by Allah to be a martyr," Bin Laden said in a short clip which was included in a videotape titled "Winds of Martyrdom", and carried by the Washington-based SITE Intelligence Group. SITE said the footage, which showed Bin Laden outdoors against a background of a hill and shrubs, was old. The US Senate on Friday doubled the bounty on bin Laden to 50 million dollars, reflecting frustration that the Al-Qaeda mastermind remains free and rising anxiety over possible future attacks. In the meantime, some analysts are comparing the resurfacing of OBL video just after the doubling of head-money with the capture of lead Al-Qaeeda members coinciding the visits of US administration functionaries to Pakistan.
