Munib wants legislation on Ruet

ISLAMABAD—Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (CRHC), Mufti Munibur Rahman has demanded of the federal government to make legislation for implementation of the CRHC decisions across the country.
Talking to Online on Friday he alleged that the NWFP government and some Ulema wanted to divide the nation over Eid issue. “The people should foil the conspiracy of the deviants by celebrating Eidul Azha on January 1, Monday,” he added. He condemned the decision of the NWFP ulema, who, he said had announced Eidul Fitr on 29th Ramazan. He said that the ulema were repeating their blunder instead of remedying it. He said these ulema had announced to celebrate Eidul Azha on Sunday, which was a regretful and shameful act. Mufti Munib said that the decisions of the national institutions must be honored. He said apparently referring to the ulema of NWFP that they had been violating the decisions of the government institutions since creation of Pakistan. He said that the MMA government in the NWFP should make efforts for the integrity of the nation. He alleged that the NWFP government was backing the deviants.—Online
“These elements want to hijack the entire system,” he said adding that they had put pressure on him but he did not surrender before them.
The chairman CRHC said that if we could not unite on the issue of Hilal, how could we lead the nation. He called upon the federal government to make legislation in this regard and take stern action against the violators.
