IPI Gas project to bring prosperity in region: Jadoon

ISLAMABAD—Petroleum Minister, Amanullah Khan Jadoon has said that
Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project was in the final stage
and its expeditious implementation would not only bring prosperity in
the entire region but also help overcome growing energy needs of
regional countries.
He said talking to Iranian Ambassador, Mashallah Shakeri who paid a
courtesy call here and discussed with him matters pertaining to
promoting Pak-Iran cooperation in the oil, gas and mineral sectors.
Welcoming the Iranian Envoy, the Minister said that both countries were
endowed with vast copper, coal, iron-ore and other mineral deposits and
could benefit from each other’s experience for the mutual advantage.
He said the government would welcome Iranian participation in the Oil
Refinery, LPG, LNG, Coal gasification projects besides oil, gas and
mineral exploration activities in a level playing field to the investors
in the country.
Reciprocating his sentiments, the Iranian Envoy expressed gratitude
tothe government of Pakistan and Minister for Petroleum for according
him a warm welcome. he said that IPI gas pipeline and mineral
cooperation would further flourish the existing multi dimensional ties
interaction between the two countries. The Ambassador also conveyed warm
greetings and best wishes to the Minister from his Iranian counterpart.
Additional Secretary, Shaukat Hayat Durrani, Senior Joint Secretary
(Development) Jehangir Khan and Director General (Gas) Saeedullah Shah
were also present during the meeting. |
