Nawaz seeks Qazi’s consent on anti-Govt
strategy
LAHORE—The PML (N) Punjab president Sardar Zulfiqar Ahmad Khosa and
Secretary-General Raja Ishfaq Sarwar called on MMA president and ameer
of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Qazi Hussain Ahmad on Wednesday here at
Mansoorah and delivered him a letter from former Prime Minster Mian
Mohammad Nawaz Sharif.
According to JI media cell press release Mian Nawaz Sharif talked to
Qazi Hussain Ahmad on this subject last week on phone. Mian Sahib has
sought opinion of the Qazi Hussain Ahmad on five-point agenda coupled
with his letter.
Meanwhile, talking to a private TV channel Qazi Hussain Ahmad told that
ARD and MMA had agreed to the five-point agenda last year. However, he
urged a joint movement to implement the already agreed points on which
the proposed agenda is silent.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad parried a question about the PPP saying: “he does not
want to create wedge in the ranks of opposition my making statements.”
He stressed the need for an immediately joint movement of the opposition
parties to end the unconstitutional and uncalled for role of the army
from the national politics.
Chairman Pakistan Muslim League-N, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq has said that Mian
Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan before the next general elections.
Addressing party workers via telephone at the residence of Tehsil
President PML-N, Sajid Ali Bhatti, Chairman PML-N said that the
government cannot stop Nawaz Sharif by the use of force.
Commenting on the latest reports on deal between the government and
Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPP-P), veteran politician
hoped that PPP-P has sacrificed a lot for the restoration of democracy
and would not be involved in any conspiracy against democracy.
Condemning UN sanctions against Iran, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq has said that
these sanctions are unjustified as Iran is using its programme only for
peaceful means and Israel on the other hand is openly manufacturing
nuclear weapons. Sanctions on Iran reflects double standard of the
United Nations, he added.
Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has sent an invitation letter to
MQM to participate in the All Parties Conference (APC). Eight members
delegation of PML-N comprising Nawaz Sharif’s coordinator, Ahsan Pasha,
Additional Secretary Information, Sardar Rahim and others met MQM
leader, Muhammad Sharif Khan and gave him this invitation letter to
participate in APC. The meeting continued till 45 minutes and leaders
from both parties discussed various political issues.
Muhammad Sharif Khan welcomed the invitation from Mian Nawaz Sharif and
said that MQM will perform its role to restore the real democracy in the
country. PML-N delegation appreciated the efforts of MQM about its
valuable sacrifices regarding restoration of democracy and expressed
deep sorrow on the death of 159 MQM workers who were killed in order to
take political revenge. Ahsan Pasha and Sardar Rahim also condemned the
demolition of MQM’s Headquarter “Bait-ul-Hamza” and termed it as the
worst example of political revenge.
