Renovation project of over headwater tanks prepared

RAWALPINDI—The renovation project of Over Headwater Tanks has been prepared and the designing and planning work in its final stage.
The Headwater Tanks which would be restored is located in the areas of Children Park Committee Chowk, Bag-e-Sardaran and Waris Khan. Syed Aslam Ali Sabzawari, Head Rawalpindi Environmental Project in a statement said that Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Punjab Government have carried out the soft loaning of the project worth of Rs 5 billion and work is underway with full pace. It is pertinent to mention that these water tanks had developed fault since 1970.
The new infrastructure of drainage system would be laid down and 30 years old pipelines would also be changed in Asghar Mall and Saidpur Road. The project director informed that solid waste project has also been included in the project, adding that after the completion of mega projects, people in all the Union Councilors would get relief.—Agencies
