By Hina Kiyani

ISLAMABAD—Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Tuesday has directed the top management of Federal Judicial Academy ( FJA) Islamabad, to provide free access to the recently developed on-line of the Academy, to those practicing lawyers who desire to conduct research in the emerging trends both in the legal and judicial profession in the wake of the on-going process of globalization.
In his note the Chief Justice of Pakistan has further mentioned that the advocates who are interested in research should be provided free access subject to the condition that they get registration with the Library of the FJA.
Last week, in order to promote reading and research culture in the judicial and legal fraternity, the library of the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA), Islamabad was made on-line and this initiative was taken on the directive of Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and the task was accomplished under the guidance of the DG of the Academy Mr. Moazzam Hayat. Now the catalogue of the library can be visited on the website: www. fja. gov.pk.
Spokesman of the FJA, Hashim Abro told: it has been principally decided to provide free access to the practicing lawyers and a detailed program in this regard is being chalked out and that would be publicized at the earliest.
It is apt to mention here that FJA Library is reported to be the first law library in the public sector which has gone on-line.
