Shuakat Aziz

Islamic Republic of Pakistan

Ijaz-Ul-Haq

On the occasion of Christmas, I am delighted to extend heartfelt congratulations to the Christian citizens of Pakistan.
Islam preaches fair, equal and just treatment of the minorities. The Government and society in Pakistan are committed to always care for and maintain a good relationship with all minority communities while duly safeguarding their rights and privileges.
Minorities are sacred trust for us. The founder of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had, even before creation of Pakistan, unequivocally declared a policy of equality, freedom and security for all communities irrespective of their religion, profession or ethnic origin. The constitution of Pakistan lays down the provision for the minorities to freely profess and practice their religions and for the development of their culture as also to safeguard their legitimate interests for which the Government is fully committed.
Christmas is also an opportunity to remind us and to reaffirm our resolve to work hand in hand for ultimate betterment of humanity. I wish a very merry Christmas and season’s greetings to all Christians of the world.

On the auspicious occasion of Christmas, I extend my heartiest greetings and felicitations to all Christians of the world, especially in Pakistan. I wish them all happiness and prosperity on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Pakistan.
Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) is one of those great prophets who are deeply revered by Muslims. His eternal message of love for humanity, and for members of all communities and fraternities across the world, still possess the strength to ensure peace and harmony in today’s troubled world. Minorities are sacred trust for us. The founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had unequivocally declared a policy of equality, freedom and security for all communities living in Pakistan, irrespective of their caste, creed or colour.
The Constitution of Pakistan provides for the minorities to freely profess and practice their religion. The government is committed to safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests, and is resolved that they should continue to enjoy equal rights, as guaranteed in the Constitution. The present government has been endeavouring to translate every ideal of the Quaid into reality. By the grace of Allah Almighty, our efforts have borne fruit and we have succeeded in laying the foundations of a Pakistan that reflects the Quaid’s vision – a forward looking, progressive, developed and modern Islamic democratic welfare state.
I urge my fellow Pakistanis to maintain unity in our ranks, faith in our strength and discipline in our actions, and live in harmony without any ethnic, sectarian or regional considerations and stand together as a nation, united to face all challenges with courage and fortitude. We should make our nation stronger and more prosperous and ensure that our future generations enjoy the fruits of peace, progress and prosperity. I am confident that our people, imbued with a sense of honor, national pride and dedication possess the potential to protect national interests. On this day, let us pledge that Unity, Faith and Discipline will always serve as guiding principles in our endeavours to make Pakistan a true embodiment of the Quaid’s vision.

The present Government and Ministry of Minorities Affairs has been endeavoring hard to bring minorities in mainstream. The Ministry and the present Government is working hard for socio economic uplift of minorities.
