As we celebrate the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, we must pledge anew to redouble our efforts to make Pakistan a prosperous and dynamic Islamic Welfare state envisioned by the Father of Nation. There can be no doubt about the fact that Quaid-e-Azam was one of the greatest leaders in world history and creation of Pakistan is a living testament to his foresight and political genius. A man of impeccable integrity, the Quaid through personal example led the independence movement to its successful culmination against seemingly overwhelming odds.
I would like to emphasize that it is imperative for all Pakistanis to try and instill in themselves the exceptional personal qualities, which the Quaid-e-Azam possessed. We need to inculcate in ourselves the spirit of dedication, high moral character and honesty of purpose coupled with guiding principles of “Unity, Faith and Discipline” enunciated by the Quaid.
The Quaid was great exponent of human liberty and dignity and abhorred all kinds of prejudices, violence and extremism. He believed in the rule of law and justice to all without discrimination. Let the Quaid’s birthday strengthen our resolve to follow his inspiring example and strive to build Pakistan as a prosperous, modern and dynamic Islamic welfare state.

May Allah Almighty Be with us in our endeavours. Ameen!

Today we are celebrating the 130th birth anniversary of our founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who single handedly moulded the destiny of a hapless minority of the subcontinent to be the proud citizens of an independent state. He was the man who instilled hope, courage and determination into them; he made them conscious of their inherent strength and also made them realize that they were a nation by every standard.
The Muslims of the subcontinent made great sacrifices for achieving their independence; and under the inspiring leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, they pledged to strive for greater glory of newly born state. It is, therefore, our foremost duty to endeavour, individually as well as collectively, to translate his vision into concrete reality. The best way to achieve the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam is to act honestly and diligently on his advice on how Pakistan can become a strong and prosperous member of the comity of nations. In my opinion, the most unforgettable of his sayings is that the Almighty has blessed this country with rich resources, both human and material, and that it is now up to its citizens to build a meaningful structure on this solid foundation. These are simple but purposeful words and we must pay heed to them if we want to emulate the Quaid’s life and character.
Islam also enjoins upon Muslims to regard the life, property, culture and honour of all religious communities as sacred as their own. The celebration of Christmas with traditional zeal and fervour is a testimony of religious freedom enjoyed by the Christian community in Pakistan. This indicates that tolerance and understanding are the hallmark of this society. The people of Pakistan believe in enlightened moderation, which is not only the core and crux of Islamic teachings but also the essence of every religion of the world. This provides a strong basis for interfaith and inter-cultural harmony in today’s world.
While wishing happy Christmas once again on this occasion, I would like to extend my appreciation to my Christian brethren for their patriotism and dedicated services to the country’s development and progress. We can never forget their unmatched contribution in the process of nation building, especially in the field of health and education.
