Cuba to give 58 scholarships to AJK students

MUZAFFARABAD—Cuban Ambassador Gustavo McCann has said that his government will give scholarship to 58 students for MBBS of affected areas of AJK every year. During his visit of Haitian Bala, on Sunday, he donated medical equipment worth Rs 15 million for operation. He also announced provision of 20 doctors for the hospital in order to provide better health facilities to patients. Lauding Cuban doctors rendering their services, he said all available resources would be provided for the victims of quake affectees. Appreciating service of Cuban doctors, Prime Minister of AJK Sardar Attiq Ahmad Khan said that Cuba had helped quake affectees as their brethren. Its exemplary support can not be matched in the world, he held. Cuban Ambassador, however, said, it is the obligation of his government to support quake victims and assured his country support for affectees.—Agencies
