Security
beefed up in twin cities
ISLAMABAD—The police of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have
chalked out a comprehensive security plan to avoid any untoward incident
during Christmas.
Huge contingents of Police have been deployed at sensitive areas, public
parks and Churches in Rawalpindi and Islamabad in order to maintain law
and order. Special security arrangements have been made for diplomats
and foreign dignitaries residing in the capital.
Foolproof security measures have been taken for diplomats and police
commandos have been deployed at all the exit and entrance of the
diplomatic enclave.
All Superintendents Police, Deputy Superintendents Police (DSP) and
Station House Officers (SHOs) of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have been
directed to keep vigilant eye during the holy occasion of Christian
community.
Security will be ensured on exit and entrance points of the city, where
police officials will check all vehicles and suspected persons.
The Police personnel in uniform and plain clothes have been deputed in
all bazaars, shopping centers and outside recreational sites and
churches of the twin cities to keep vigilance on activities of every
passerby. Special police contingents will patrol in different areas both
in vehicles, bikes and on foot.
While in the federal capital, Islamabad Model Traffic Police have
chalked out a traffic plan for the smooth flow of traffic during
Christmas and Eid-ul-Azha celebrations. According to traffic plan,
personnel of traffic police would present near Churches, recreational
sites, shopping areas and mosques to inform people about ways to avoid
the rush.
Eid vacations of Model Traffic Police personnel have been cancelled.
People would be informed about shopping centers, which remained open on
holidays, so that priority could be given to shopping only during
