Thar Express runs out of steam

KARACHI—The operation of Thar Express will remain suspended till February 30, 2007, says an announcement of Pakistan Railways quoting a communique from Indian Railways.
It said that restoration work is still being carried out on Monabao-Jodhpur section. However, railways said the train operation could restart from February 10, 2007.
In the meantime, to facilitate the movement of passengers between Pakistan-India, Samjhota Express already running between Lahore-Wagah- Attari will cater to any extra rush of passengers due to further suspension of Monabao-Jodhpur route.
