NWA peace pact reviewed

PESHAWAR—NWFP Governor Lt. Gen (R) Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai held a detailed meeting with members of the grand tribal Jirga that brokered peace agreement with the tribesmen of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) here at Governor’s House on Saturday.
The meeting reviewed the prevalent situation in North Waziristan in the post peace agreement scenario. The Governor said that after passage of three months of the signing of the agreement, we were in a position to take stock of the situation and take steps so as to ensure that things move in the right direction. The Governor reiterated his commitment to the maintenance of peace in FATA in general and in Waziristan in particular. He said that all out efforts should be made by all concerned to make the agreement a model arrangement for peace and tranquility in the area. The Governor directed the jirga members to visit North Waziristan and carryout a detailed review of the state of affairs and remove bottlenecks if any, for ensuring complete success in this regard.
