Rashid Rauf to be indicted on 5th Jan

RAWALPINDI—Rashid Rauf who is detained for his alleged involvement in plotting to hijack British planes in order to blow them up with explosive material will be indicted on January, 5, 2007.
The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) had dropped the terrorism act clauses and sent the case to sessions judge for hearing following the arguments of defence counsel Hashmat Habib Ullah advocate. The case is being heard in the court of senior civil judge Rawalpindi Mian Kaleem Khan The accused Rashid Rauf was brought to kutchery by police for his appearance in the court but the police sent him back due to presence of media men. The accused was presented in the court a few moments before the court closing hours. Rashid Rauf at the time of his appearance looked very happy composed. He was brought to court through the other door way. The senior civil judge Muhammad Kaleem Khan while providing copy of statement of allegations to the accused set January 5 for his indictment. The court also directed the police to keep the accused in judicial lock up in Adiala jail.—Agencies
