Pakistan, Bahrain call for peaceful end to Iran crisis

ISLAMABAD—President General Pervez Musharraf Thursday expressed Pakistan’s desire for a peaceful solution of Iran’s nuclear standoff and called upon the world community to resolve the matter in a positive manner.
Talking to Crown Prince of Bahrain and Commander of Bahraini Armed Forces, Sheikh Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, who called on him, the President said Pakistan always stressed peaceful solution of conflicts and wished that Iran’s nuclear issue should also be dealt in the same way.
Bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bahrain and other international and regional matters of mutual interest were the main focuses of the meeting. The President underlined the need of unity and solidarity among Ummah and urged to store joint efforts and take steps for augmentation of cooperation in economic, trade and investment sectors.
He said Pakistan was making economic progress and revolutionary reforms introduced in economic sectors during last seven years have stabilized its economy. “We are making more efforts to make more progress, keeping sustainability in economic progress”, the President said.
The President gave invitation to Bahraini investors to do investment in Pakistan in various sectors. The crown prince of Bahrain, Prince Sulaiman -bin-Hammad Al Khalifa met with President General Pervez Musharraf here in the President House Office on Thursday.
The talks focused on important regional and International issues, while the prince conveyed message of goodwill on behalf of Amir of Bahrain, and expressed his great satisfaction about the success of his goodwill tour promoting brotherly relations between two.
President Musharraf expressed his great desire to cooperate with Bahrain in various fields of interests like economy, defense, and others, and stressed on closer coordination and strong relationship between Ummah for a conducive and ever-lasting peace in the Middle East region. President Musharraf cited the important role of OIC in this connection, and opined that a conducive and just political solution of the Palestine, Kashmir and other issues of Muslim countries can help eliminate the menace of terrorism and extremism.
President Musharraf said that Pakistan was fighting the war against terrorism according to its principled stand, and vowed to conclude this struggle to its logical end.
President Musharraf also expressed his Iraq and Afghanistan policy and expressed Pakistan’s great concern over the Iraqi circumstances , while stressing dialogue for Iran’s nuclear issue.
Crown Prince of Bahrain, Shaikh Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa here Thursday inaugurated the new building of Bahrain Embassy. He was warmly received by the ambassadors, dignitaries, State Minister for Interior Khusro Bakhtiar and State Minister for Defence Production Khalid Ahmed Lund and Bahrain Embassy Consular General.
In a brief formal ceremony the Crown Prince hoisted the Bahrainian flag in the newly renovated building Later, he exchanged views with the people gathered there and expressed the hope that his visit to Pakistan will help strengthen the cordial ties between both the countries. Sheikh Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Commander in Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force along with a 20 member entourage visited Pakistan Ordinance Factory on Thursday. The minister of Defence Production Habibullah Warraich accompanied the Crown Prince as “Minister in Waiting” Lt Gen Syed Sabahat Hussain, Chairman POF Board received the dignitary and introduced him with Members of POF Board.
