Govt following Quaid’s vision, says Durrani
PTV to telecast special programs on Quaid Day, Christmas

ISLAMABAD—Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani Thursday said the present government through its concrete policies and strong determination is steering the country towards the goal, the dream of which was seen by the builders of Pakistan.
He was flanked by Chairman PTV Shahid Rafi and Managing Director PTV Ashraf Azeem, said 130th birth Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah would be celebrated throughout the country with a national spirit and zeal. “In this connection, Pakistan Television has arranged special transmission, aimed at generating a new spirit and vigour in the nation,” said the Minister while addressing a press conference at PTV Headquarters.
He said special ceremonies would be organized on the occasion with reiteration of resolve that Pakistan will be given interpretation of the real dream of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Functions to highlight the life, achievements and ideals of the great Quaid would be organized throughout the country so that the new generation is kept abreast with the ideology of Pakistan, the struggleled by Quaid-e-Azam to have a separate homeland for Muslims andpolitical struggle by Pakistan Muslim League, he added.
He said Pakistan Muslim League is the party which created Pakistan and it would play a significant role in transforming Pakistan into a real prosperous, progressive and democratic state in line with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. The Minister pointed out that present government through its concrete policies and strong determination is steering the country towards the goal, the dream of which was seen by the builders of Pakistan.
Mr. Durrani said with the passage of Women Rights Protection Bill, a new confidence has been generated in the citizens of Pakistan and particularly in the deprived sections of population. Mr. Durrani said PTV transmission on December 25 would include specialprogrammes highlighting all aspects of Quaid’s life.
To a question, he expressed the firm resolve of the government to empower all the weaker and deprived segments of the society including women, minorities and the poor. He said the PTV would launch live programme from Mazar-e-Quaid titled,’Rehbar-e-Tarraqi-o-Kamal’ and its feed would also be provided to private television channels.
The Minister said Electronic News Gathering (ENG) service of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) would be provided to all private TV channels and the PTV would also share its archive programmes with other TV channels. Briefing the journalists, MD PTV Ashraf Azeem said the PTV would telecast special live transmission the entire day on the occasion of the130th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam. He informed in order to celebrate Quaid’s birthday, special programmes have been prepared for the whole month. He said on December 25, the change of guards ceremony at the Mazar-e-Quaid will be telecast live while a special show on the life of the Quaid will be presented.
He said PTV under the guidance of Minister for Information had restored its image and now all its programmes were being produced by the organisation itself. Special programmes have also been arranged in connection with Christmas and New Year, he added.
