‘Quaid-e-Azam’s leadership qualities most imp factor in Pak Movement’

ISLAMABAD—Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed Tuesday said the quality and caliber of leadership of the Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the most important factor in Pakistan Movement and to achieve a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent.
Addressing a session of the four-day international conference on “All India Muslim League (1906-47)” here at local hotel, in connection with centenary celebrations of the Muslim League, Mushahid said without Muslim League and Quaid-i-Azam, there would have been no Pakistan.
He said the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam’s stands out among all the stalwarts of the freedom struggle on both sides of the divide. Mushahid said Quaid-e-Azam was a man of character, unimpeachable integrity and unwavering commitment to the cause of Muslims of the sub-continent.
Talking about the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he said “Imagine, the leadership of the Quaid as compared to the contemporary realities of Pakistani politics where most traditional politicians assumed that you cannot achieve your goal without the backing of big money, the establishment or prone to believe that the road to Islamabad lies through Washington.” Mushahid said, “We can understand the significance and unique achievement of the leadership of the Quaid if we were able to understand what the Quaid was not.”
He said Quaid-i-Azam was not a traditional politician, not a feudal, not an industrialist, not a cleric, not a bureaucrat, had no army, had no sect and he did not even speak any of the local languages and not ‘Munafik’. The PML Secretary General said despite all these elements, the Muslims had complete faith in him and they followed his leadership. He said Quaid-e-Azam was a self-made professional whose character and quality of leadership inspired millions.
He said the leadership of the Muslim League wheeled a demoralized and disunited people into a political force, and gave Muslims a voice. Mushahid said Muslim League and its leaders played pivotal role in Pakistan Movement, which is filled with sacrifices and conducive contribution to reshaping the history. He said the four-day international conference is to recognize the struggle of those who worked for the creation of separate home land for the Muslims of the sub-continent.
Mushahid said the hundred years of PML have been a history of struggle and sacrifices and in this period, the Muslim League made a conducive contribution to reshaping the history of a region.
He said it also marks the centenary celebrations of the Muslim League, which is Asia’s second oldest party. Mushahid said Muslim League started its struggle which culminated on August 14, 1947 by upholding inalienable human rights and the right of self-determination of the Muslims of India. The Secretary General PML said, “When today, we seek to preserve, protect and promote the rights of women, the minorities of other dispossessed sections we are only pursuing the vision of our founding fathers.”
He said the conference has been providing a source of education and learning to the young generation. Mushahid said its also good and informative for the workers of the party who are the real strengthen of the PML. He appreciated the papers presented in the conference adding that the experts on Pakistan Movement and Quaid-e-Azam have highlighted the struggle of leaders of Pakistan Movement.
Former Speaker National Assembly and Senior Vice President Gohar Ayub speaking on the occasion said that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah led the struggle for separate homeland for the Muslims as a constitutional experts.
