ISLAMABAD—Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League, Senator Mushahid
Hussain Sayed Tuesday said the quality and caliber of leadership of the
Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was the most important factor in
Pakistan Movement and to achieve a separate homeland for the Muslims of
the sub-continent.
Addressing a session of the four-day international conference on “All
India Muslim League (1906-47)” here at local hotel, in connection with
centenary celebrations of the Muslim League, Mushahid said without
Muslim League and Quaid-i-Azam, there would have been no Pakistan.
He said the leadership of Quaid-i-Azam’s stands out among all the
stalwarts of the freedom struggle on both sides of the divide. Mushahid
said Quaid-e-Azam was a man of character, unimpeachable integrity and
unwavering commitment to the cause of Muslims of the sub-continent.
Talking about the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he
said “Imagine, the leadership of the Quaid as compared to the
contemporary realities of Pakistani politics where most traditional
politicians assumed that you cannot achieve your goal without the
backing of big money, the establishment or prone to believe that the
road to Islamabad lies through Washington.” Mushahid said, “We can
understand the significance and unique achievement of the leadership of
the Quaid if we were able to understand what the Quaid was not.”
He said Quaid-i-Azam was not a traditional politician, not a feudal, not
an industrialist, not a cleric, not a bureaucrat, had no army, had no
sect and he did not even speak any of the local languages and not ‘Munafik’.
The PML Secretary General said despite all these elements, the Muslims
had complete faith in him and they followed his leadership. He said
Quaid-e-Azam was a self-made professional whose character and quality of
leadership inspired millions.
He said the leadership of the Muslim League wheeled a demoralized and
disunited people into a political force, and gave Muslims a voice.
Mushahid said Muslim League and its leaders played pivotal role in
Pakistan Movement, which is filled with sacrifices and conducive
contribution to reshaping the history. He said the four-day
international conference is to recognize the struggle of those who
worked for the creation of separate home land for the Muslims of the
sub-continent.
Mushahid said the hundred years of PML have been a history of struggle
and sacrifices and in this period, the Muslim League made a conducive
contribution to reshaping the history of a region.
He said it also marks the centenary celebrations of the Muslim League,
which is Asia’s second oldest party. Mushahid said Muslim League started
its struggle which culminated on August 14, 1947 by upholding
inalienable human rights and the right of self-determination of the
Muslims of India. The Secretary General PML said, “When today, we seek
to preserve, protect and promote the rights of women, the minorities of
other dispossessed sections we are only pursuing the vision of our
founding fathers.”
He said the conference has been providing a source of education and
learning to the young generation. Mushahid said its also good and
informative for the workers of the party who are the real strengthen of
the PML. He appreciated the papers presented in the conference adding
