India beat England to reach Blind Cricket Cup final

ISLAMABAD—India outplayed England by six wickets on Thursday to set up a title clash against Pakistan in the 3rd Cricket World Cup for the Blind.
Defending champion Pakistan will take on India in the final of the tournament at Pindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Pakistan had beaten Australia by Ten wickets in the first semi-final on Wednesday.
In the second semi-final, India invited England to bat first after winning the toss. The Englishmen scored 209 runs for the loss of five wickets in 40 overs. All the five batsmen were run out. In reply, India achieved the required total in the 27th over after losing four wickets. Subhash Boya remained not out on 88 while Ashish Nagi scored 52 and landed man-of-the-match award also because he got two batsmen run out earlier in the England innings.. Federal Minister for Woman Affairs Sumera Malik gave away the prizes to the players as chief guest.
Governor Punjab Lt. Gen. (retd) Khalid Maqbool will hand over the trophy and awards after the title clash between Pakistan and India on Saturday.. Indian captain Maninder Singh appreciated the efforts of his player Ashish Nagi in the semi-final against England. “He is a smart fielder and got two run-outs and also played a good knock with the bat at a crucial stage of the innings”, he said.
Asked about his views on the upcoming final against Pakistan, Nagi quipped “I want to have five-six Pakistani batsmen run out”. Pakistan had walloped India by 183 runs in the group match of the tournament.—Agencies
