Pak-Brunei to enhance defence cooperation

RAWALPINDI—The first meeting of Pak-Brunei Joint Working Committee on Defence Cooperation concluded Tuesday at Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam with the pledge to increase defence cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
The meeting was co-chaired by Secretary Defence Lt Gen Tariq Waseem Ghazi (Retd) and his Brunei counterpart Dato Paduka Haji Mustafa Bin Hajji Sirat, Permanent Secretary Defence, says a fax message received from Bandar Seri Begawan.
The meeting was held in cordial and friendly atmosphere and expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved during the course of two days discussion. The meeting agreed to increase defence cooperation between the two countries. Both sides emphasized the need for closer interaction between the Armed Forces of the two countries. The meeting also agreed to enhance cooperation in the area of military training.
Secretary Defence also called on the Commanders of Armed Forces and Air Force of Brunei and discussed with them matters of mutual interest . He will also call on the Deputy Defence Minister and the Army Chief of Brunei today (Wednesday).
