Mushahid urges Muslim World to focus on education, women rights

ISLAMABAD—Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League Mushahid Hussain Sayed has urged the Muslim World to focus on education and delivery of rights to women.
While delivering a lecture at Muhammad Ali Jinnah University here on Tuesday, Senator Mushahid termed characteristics of courage, vision and inspiration for common man as most integral qualities of leadership.
“Pakistan is the only Muslim country where freedom laws are fully implemented and everyone is free to express his opinion,” said the PML Secretary General who started his career as a lecturer. “Leadership should have courage to take bold decisions to acquire the required goals as per its vision. True leadership brings hope and inspiration for the common man. Leadership requires integrity of character as a leader is never swayed away by majority opinion,” said Mushahid Hussain Sayed while elabourating his viewpoint.
The PML Secretary General termed Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah his hero and role model for the youth as leader of the nation won a homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent through his vision, courage, sheer hard work and dedication. “Palestinians are fighting for liberation for six decades while Kurds are striving for a homeland since 1926. It was inspirational and qualitative leadership of Quaid-e-Azam that Muslims of sub-continent won a homeland within years of struggle,” he said. Senator Mushahid said Pakistanis are learning from mistakes and this nation has a tendency to bounce back.
He said education, science and technology and enlightenment are most significant charistristics Muslims should adhere to.Terming education a key to success in all spheres of life, Mushahid Hussain Sayed said that after 9/11 incidents, the process of brain drain was reversed as most of Pakistani expatriates returned to Pakistan.
“Pakistan is land of opportunities in terms of education and today our youth can learn the latest learning skills as most talented educationists have joined private as well as public education institutions,” he said.
Senator Mushahid, who is also chairman of Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, stressed the need for institutionalized decision-making in the country as consultation in decision-making process is vital.
