No need of Waziristan-like peace pact in Bajaur

PESHAWAR—Secretary Security FATA Arbab Mohammad Arif has said that there is no need of Waziristan like peace deal in Bajaur agency, as the situation in both agencies are different from each other.
He was briefing newsmen after a meeting held to review law and order situation and development activities in Fata, attended by secretaries Fata and political agents from all the seven tribal agencies at FATA secretariat here on Monday. He denied any peace deal was in the offing before or after the attack on a religious seminary in Bajaur agency that killed 82 of its occupants on October 30. He said that submission of an undertaking by the tribal elders for their conduct and help in ensuring writ of the government in that area was to take place the next morning and added it was a routine practice in all the tribal agencies.—Online
