President stresses new technology for working of judiciary

ISLAMABAD—President General Pervez Musharraf has emphasized the need for introducing modern technologies at every level for improving the working of judiciary, ensuring transparency and speedy delivery of justice to the people.
Judiciary is completely independent in the country, the President stated this while addressing a high level meeting regarding plan on the automation of courts here in Presidential Camp on Monday. Federal Law Minister Wasi Zafar and Federal Information Technology Awais Leghari and senior high-level officers were present on the occasion.
Federal Law Minister Wasi Zafar and Federal Information Technology Awais Leghari briefed the President about a plan concerning independence system of courts. The President said the delivery of timely speedy and inexpensive justice to the common man is the top priority of the government and all efforts are being made to provide all necessary administrative and other facilities to the judiciary in this respect.
Automation of the courts, the President said would help improve the working of the judiciary for achieving better results and tendency of the cases would significantly reduce.
The President appreciated the efforts of the apex court on taking measure to provide speedy justice to people. He said it is a matter of great satisfaction for him that judiciary is working very well and efficiently.
The President also praised the steps taken by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on taking Suo Motto action of cases related to public and quickly disposal of pending cases.

He made these remarks at a presentation on the automation of courts in the country. The Minister for Law Wasi Zafar, Minister for Information Technology Awais Ahmed Leghari and senior officials attended the meeting.
President Musharraf said that the delivery of timely and speedy justice to the common man is the top priority of the government and all efforts are being made to provide all necessary administrative and other facilities to the judiciary in this regard.
The President underlined that the automation of the courts would help improve working of the judiciary and pendency of the cases would significantly reduce.
The President underscored the need for coordination among all stakeholders including the superior and other courts for effective implementation of the automation system for achieving better results.
