Motorway police bust dacoits gang

ISLAMABAD—National Highways & Motorway Police on Sunday night busted a gang of dacoits and recovered five stolen goats being shiftedin a truck after exchange of firing and arrested two persons along with illegal arms and ammunition.
On Sunday night, Motorway Police officers during routine patrol on G,T Road in the area of Jumber, were informed by one Arif Ullah that five armed dacoits have stolen his goats in a truck on G.T Road.
The Motorway Police immediately informed all the patrolling officers of NH&MP about the theft. Within minutes, Motorway Police officers SPO Muhammad Akram and PO Javed Afzal stopped the truck No. LRJ-1463 on G.T Road and on checking found five goats.
Meanwhile, four culprits traveling in same truck taking advantage of the night escaped in the nearby field.However, the driver of truck Nasir was arrested. The emergency squad of Motorway Police was called and the absconders were chased and who opened fire on NH&MP officers.
The NH&MP officers had to retaliate and the exchange of fire continuedfor some time.After commando action, the NH&MP officers succeeded in arresting another robber Shahbaz of Sheikhupura, while other three dacoits fled away by taking the advantage of darkness of night.
The Motorway Police also recovered one Double Barrel Rifle along with 50 live rounds and one 35-bore Pistol along with nine live rounds from the possession of arrested dacoits.
Later the arrested robbers along with recovered goats, truck, and illegal arms and ammunition were handed over to local police for further legal investigation.
