Snowfall cuts off many areas

ISLAMABAD—The spate of snowfall continues in the upper and northern areas of the country without respite, severing all road communications with rest of the country. Muzaffarabad and the adjoining mountainous areas continued to receive snowfall, while Muzaffarabad-Srinagar Road at Sawan remained blocked due to heavy land-sliding a private TV channel reported.
Meanwhile, Neelum Valley Road, which was shut yesterday, has been cleared from Muzaffarabad to Athmuqam, however, all sorts of traffic on Sharda-Keel Road at upper Neelum Valley remained cut off. Naran and Saiful Malook Lake in district Mansehra were once again overtaken by a spell of snowfall, while the weather remained cloudy in plain areas and got chilly in several areas after receiving light rain. Balakot-Naran Road remained blocked for traffic at several places and the quake victims living in tents and shelters were braving shivering cold. Nathiagali-Murree Road, which was closed due to recent snowfall has been opened for all kindrts of traffic, however most of the roads of Galyat were still closed.
