62,518 pilgrims reach Saudi Arabia for Hajj

ISLAMABAD—As many as 62,518 intending pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia till todate since start of the pre-Haj operation on November 25, to airlift about 150,000 pilgrims to the Holy Land. A number of 49,166 pilgrims were airlifted to Jeddah and 13,352 to Madinah Munawwarah, said a press release issued here by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Zakat and Ushr on Sunday.
About 4,700 pilgrims are expected to fly to Saudi Arabia on Monday (Today). About 1,000 will depart from Islamabad in 3 flights, 1,000 from Karachi in 6 flights, 1,000 from Lahore in 3 flights, 800 from Peshawar in 3 flights, 520 from Quetta in 2 flights and 110 from Multan in 1 flight.
One flight will operate from Faisalabad with about 200 pilgrims on board. Out of 250 staffers 172 have already reached Saudi Arabia to provide assistance to the pilgrims and monitor Haj Group Organizers. Similarly 184 out of 230 Khuddam-ul-Hujjaj have reached there to assist and accommodate the pilgrims in their buildings. On the other hand as many as 201 doctors/paramedical staff have reached Saudi Arabia so far. They are providing medical assistance to the pilgrims in dispensaries, set up at Jeddah, Makkah Mukarramah and Madinah Munawwarah.—Online
