No differences in MMA, says Fazl

ISLAMABAD—The secretary general MMA, Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman has firmly stated that there are no differences among the religious Alliance of MMA, and would continue its struggle against any steps in contravention of Quran and Sunnah.
He was addressing a huge but remarkably peaceful protest rally in Islamabad, against Women Protection Bill on Friday, which was also, attended by deputy secretary general MMA, Maulana Ghafoor Haidri, and MNA Mian Aslam besides other workers and activists of the alliance. The participants were carrying banners and placards bearing anti-bill slogans denouncing vulgarity and obscenity etc.
Addressing the rally, Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman severely castigated the government for rampant inflation, poverty and condemned President Musharraf’s endeavor to blacklist religious elements as terrorists. He also cautioned President Musharraf to refrain from making blatant statements and said that according to an international analysis the Punjab government has been declared as the most corrupt government followed by those of Sindh and Balochistan.
He accused the federal government of trying to create a rift and weaken the Provincial government of NWFP, and termed MMA as a truly representative party of Ummah. He said that the protest against the Women Protection Bill would continue until its abolishment, while MNA, Mian Muhammad Aslam and Maulana Ghafoor also castigated the bill in strong words.
President Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Qazi Hussain Ahmed, has said that no worker of MMA will attend the National Assembly and Select Committee meetings and will refuse any official perks whereas, decision about tendering he resignations would be made from MMA’s platform. He said this while addressing the people during Namaz-e-Juma in Mahabat Khan Mosque.
He said that we have delayed the decision to tender resignations just to maintain the unity of the alliance whereas, we are thinking about the resignations of our members of the provisional assemblies. The party will not refrain from any sacrifice to fragile the government and a strong movement will be launch very soon.
He said that leaders are busy in enjoying perks. Vulgarity is flourishing in the country and people who talk about Islam are being called as hypocrites. People are now fed up of the servitude of the America and soon they will be the part of our movement against the rulers. President Musharraf passed this bill on the order of America and Muslims will not accept any conspiracy against Islamic laws, he added.
