PML hails MMA’s decision against
resignations
Staff Report
ISLAMABAD—President Pakistan Muslim League (Q), Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain
has welcomed the MMA’s decision of not tendering resignations from
assemblies.
He said in a statement that this is a healthy sign for democracy because
this fiasco could have created political crises in the country. “People
have elected their representatives for legislation and the betterment of
the country not for violating the democracy”, he maintained. He further
said that now opposition should perform their role with a greater
responsibility and it is the duty of everyone to work for the protection
of women rights.
Online Adds: Minister for religious affairs Ejaz ul Haq has said MMA has
taken prudent decision by deferring resignations adding it is second
wise decision on the part of religious grouping after LFO signing
decision. He said this while addressing a press conference here Friday.
He also unveiled details of his meeting with Saudi king, prince Naif bin
Abdullah, interior minister and Saudi Hajj minister.
Ejaz ul Haq appreciated the Hajj arrangements made by Saudi government
in Macca Mukarma and Medina Munarwa. “ I on behalf of government of
Pakistan attended the ceremony of second annual international Seerat
Award on the special invitation of Saudi inerior minister”, he told.
Ejaz held that he congratulated King Abdullah and prince Naif bin Abdul
Aziz for the steps taken by them for the betterment of Muslim Ummah. He
indicated that about 423 buildings have been acquired for Pakistani
Hajjaj this time. A complaint cell has also been set up there.
“ I reviewed the arrangements made by the private tour operators. A
special cell has been established this year to monitor Hajj
arrangements”, he said adding about 450 Pakistani pilgrims have reached
there. Replying to a question he said 1100 meter distance falls under
green category and above 1100 to 1500 meters falls under white category.
The central leaders of the religious alliance MMA are now fully
convinced that the much trumpeted Women Protection Bill (WPB) contained
nothing contrary to Islamic injunctions and their delaying tactics over
resignations from the parliament is a testimony to this fact. |
