Army the only Lashkar in Country: President

QUETTA—President general Pervez Musharraf has said there is no other Lashkar than armed forces in Pakistan adding all other Lashkars are illegal. “ There is only one Lashkar in the country and it is armed forces. It is guarantor of all of us. There can be and will be no other Lashkar than armed forces”, he said this while addressing a public meeting here Thursday.
He said the current era is era of Balochistan and country’s future is linked to Balochistan. “ Pakistan is if there is Balochistan and Balochistan is if there is Pakistan. Both are inseparable. No one should remain under any delusion about it. The present era is era of Balochistan and country’s future is attached with Balochistan”, he asserted.
Chief minister Balochistan Jam Muhammad Yousuf and city Nazim Mir Maqbool Lehri also spoke on the occasion. Governor Balochistan Awais Ahmad Ghani, information minister Muhammad Ali Durrani, Zubaida Jalal, Mr Naseer Mengal and others were also present on the occasion.
“ My heart throbs with Baloch and Pushtoon people of Balochistan. The common man of Pakistan is my strength. The entire Pakistan supports them and they can not be hood winked now”, he asserted. People of Balochistan had climbed the mountains in the past and it caused loss to people as well as army, he remarked. “ When I came to Balochistan in 1999 I came to know Balochistan is a backward area and it has lagged behind in the race of development.
I was shocked to know that people of Balochistan are still there where they had started fifty years back, he regretted. I had pledged from that very day that Balochistan has to be taken forward. People should support me. I am ready to give each and every thing to people of Balochistan which they can not even imagine. We have to leave behind past and move forward. I can not understand what is the point of clash between me and them and what are their complaints against me. I had apologized for the injustices done to people of Balochistan. Today I again apologize for it”, he underscored.
“ I promise with the Balochs and Pushtoons that I will bring them at par with the people of other provinces under my leadership, he said and alleged those who are misleading people want to keep Balochistan and people of Balochistan backward. General elections are taking place in 2007 which are very crucial . I consider them mother of Pakistan elections as country’s future depends on these elections. If you want I should stay with you in future and I am doing much for the development of Balochistan then you should vote for those whose flags you are holding. These people will support me if they return to assemblies. I have shared vision with them.
Balochistan is a larger province, he underlined. First of all we decided to improve communication system. Gwadar port was built to strengthen trade ties of Balochistan with other countries of the world so that not only Balochistan but also Pakistan attains significance for the whole world. Air port on modern lines will be built in Gwadar. Gwadar will be linked to every part of the country, Afghanistan and China through rail links.
Major dams projects were initiated to improve water system, he told. Meerani dam which was inaugurated four years back now stands filled with water. It will cultivate 37000 acres land.
